How To Choose: Grade A(Grade 1) VS Grade B(Grade 2)
If the drawing clearly states ASTM A252 Grade B (Grade 2), it must be purchased according to Grade B (Grade 2);
If the drawing only states ASTM A252, SSAW, and does not indicate the grade, the quotation is usually based on the commonly used grade, which is Grade B (Grade 2);
Low load, long pile, and easy buckling: the design party can calculate Grade A (Grade 1) and obtain written permission before adopting it, which can save material costs;
Bridges, ports, high-rise buildings, or large-diameter pipe piles: Grade 2 (Grade B) is given priority as it provides more safety margin.
