High-quality steel coils of specified grades and thicknesses are chosen based on the pipe's application and design requirements.
The edges of the steel coils are precisely trimmed and beveled to facilitate clean and efficient welding.
The steel coils are gradually wound into a spiral shape using specialized forming machines. The pitch and diameter of the spiral are controlled to meet the specified pipe dimensions.
A continuous weld is applied along the seam of the spiral using the submerged arc welding technique. Welding parameters such as current, voltage, and wire feed speed are carefully regulated to ensure a defect-free and strong weld joint.
After welding, an initial inspection is conducted to identify any visible weld defects or irregularities. This may include visual examination and possibly some basic nondestructive testing methods like magnetic particle inspection.
Comprehensive NDT methods such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, or eddy current testing are carried out to detect internal and surface flaws that may not be visible during the initial inspection..
The pipes are subjected to a hydrostatic pressure test to verify their integrity and ability to withstand the specified working pressure without leakage or failure.
A final detailed inspection is conducted to ensure that all pipes meet the strict quality standards in terms of dimensions, weld quality, mechanical properties, and surface finish
